IMO, it comes down to whether you want to make the most of the suspension within a budget.ġ. I don't know of any other strut on the market with such issues.īut your main question is whether adjustable struts are beneficial and if so is DBL Adjustable worth the extra investment. If people want Strange then I recommend Maximum Motorsport CC plates and flip the top portion of the plate upside down to gain back strut extension. Another issue that people have with them is that the struts have less extension and requires CC plate modification in order to allow more front end extension, thus better weight transfer. Mine were brand new and clunked and nothing I did got rid of the noise until I got rid of the struts. Is it worth it? Will I see much of a difference on traction with the extra adjustment available from a DA strut over an SA strut?Ĭlick to expand.A few people asked that I pop in with my thoughts since your combo is a similar to what a lot of people run in that it's mostly a street car but sees the track on occasion.Īs you noted some people had noise issues with Strange struts clunking and some don't. Looks like a sweet setup but we are talking double to triple the price of most other front coilover single adjustable setups. One of my big questions is if it’s worth it to do DA’s in the front as well? I got a quote on the Viking DA struts with coilover conversion and 225lb springs. I’m planning on going with Viking double adjustables in the rear. I’m definitely not interested in that so what would you guys say would be a good alternative? Koni’s? Lakewoood 50/50 or 70/30’s? Has Strange possibly fixed the issue with the slightly undersized shock shafts?Ģ. Originally I had looked at Strange SA (single adj) struts as a budget setup but read a bunch of threads about them clunking with C/C plates. I am planning on going to a front coil over setup so I’ll be picking up some C/C plates. With all that said, I’m also ready to start working on my suspension to hook up better on the street. I’m ordering some MT ET Street SS’s in the next couple days to get something a bit stickier so I’m not starting with a losing battle. My current tires are some Nitto 555 street tires which are useless until 50+ mph if you are mashing it, even from a roll. Outside of that I’m on stock springs and some old Monroe Reflex shocks the PO installed. I’ve already done Stifflers subframe connectors, torque boxes, weight jacker LCA’s, and tubular UCA’s with new Ford bushings. For background, I’ve got a 92 GT manual making 500whp which is a 90/10 street/strip car. I was hoping I may be able to get some input from people with real world experience on some shock setups. Hey guys, not really sure which section this falls into but here goes.
